Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Condemning the Aggressive Attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia Against Iraq 29 July 2026 (Unofficial Translation)   The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the aggressive attacks carried out by the United States and Saudi Arabia against several areas in Iraq, including attacks targeting facilities and sites belonging to Iraq's official institutions, as well as Arbaeen pilgrimage processions (Mawakib) and service stations for pilgrims.   These attacks constitute a blatant violation of Iraq's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a flagrant breach of Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations and the fundamental principles of international law. They are in line with the objectives of the United States and the Zionist regime to expand the scope of war and conflict across the West Asia region.   While extending its condolences over the martyrdom of a number of the noble people of Iraq as a result of these acts of aggression, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms the Islamic Republic of Iran's full support for and solidarity with the Government and people of Iraq. It holds the warmongering U.S. regime and its accomplices in the region fully responsible for the dangerous consequences of these criminal, inhumane, and provocative actions.
